It is a product that can gently clean the eyes, controlling discomfort caused by excessive secretion of the meibomian gland. Rheum is the term for eye discharge (in a slightly abnormal condition).
This rheum refers to the membrane/gland that fights bacteria/viruses which cause eye discharge, helps relieve irritation, and prevents infection.
This product is only for mild cases and is not pharmaceutical-based (not for curing), nor for cases of eye irritation caused by genetic abnormalities in the cat.
Example
From the manifestation of disease:
For example, flu in cats, when the virus spreads to the eyes…
So, it can help as an antibacterial and reduce the spread of the virus, while the manifestation of the main disease that causes the eye infection is healing.
The manifestation of the virus can come from inside or outside (but mostly from exposure to unclean/polluted air).
It is based on Purified Water WFI (this liquid cannot be oxidized for too long when exposed to air, so after opening, it must be tightly closed immediately to prevent contamination from air exposure) and Ionic. The Opstishootee component is designed to maintain the eye’s pH consistently without disturbing the basic function of rheum (the membrane function that fights viruses/bacteria in the eyes).
COMPOSITION
Purified Water, Ionic Ag+, Boric Acid, Acidum, Matrine.
AVOID DIRECT SUNLIGHT EXPOSURE, STORE AT ROOM TEMPERATURE OR IN A COOL PLACE.
Recommendation
It is better to store it in the refrigerator.
CLOSE TIGHTLY IMMEDIATELY AFTER USE.
ATTENTION
Use on individuals over 8 weeks of age.
This does not mean it is unsafe for those under 8 weeks, but at that age, their organs are not yet fully developed. It may still be used, but with longer intervals (every 3–5 days).
Avoid using the same product on multiple individuals.
Here’s what it means:
If one cotton pad is applied with Opti Shoothe and then used on another cat, it should be avoided. The product itself can be used for up to 3 months (this does not mean it expires).
However, it should be noted that similar products on the market (competitors) are all the same—no eye care product has a passive function lasting more than 4 months, based on analysis of the pump bottle material. According to Prof’s analysis, the effective period is around 3 months.
It’s different if the container uses an otic-type bottle (that type can last up to 6 months after opening). Therefore, after 3 months of use, the product does not immediately expire—usage remains safe, but its passive function will gradually decrease.
Stop using immediately if irritation occurs and consult a veterinarian.
RINSE
Used for certain individuals with abnormal eye conditions. Apply 1–2 drops directly to the eyeball and hold for a few moments. (For example, in cases of excessive eye discharge, conjunctivitis, or pus.) This does not mean it can cure the condition, but rather helps reduce the spread of infection while identifying the underlying illness that caused the eye contamination—such as flu, herpes, and others.
WIPE
Used for individuals with normal eye conditions. Pour a sufficient amount onto a cotton pad and gently wipe around the eye area.
